The gate is closing
FIRE stops taking files.
FIRE takes its last file on Nov 19, 2026 at 3 p.m. ET. From Jan 1, 2027, IRIS is the only way to e-file information returns.
The export is stranded
Your 1220 file has nowhere to go.
Your ERP, payroll system or in-house script writes 750-byte Pub 1220 records. Rebuilding that for IRIS takes developer time most finance teams don't have before January.
You want to keep control
Install software, or hand over your data? Neither.
Today's options mean installing Windows software or uploading your file to a service that files for you. Many teams just want to keep filing themselves, with their own TCC.
Clear your returns. Then file them yourself.
Drop in your FIRE (Pub 1220) file. Get IRIS Portal CSV back, checked against IRS rules and split for upload. Your payee data never leaves your browser.
Drop your .txt file here
It stays on this computer. Nothing is uploaded, ever.
Every preview checks your box totals against your C records, to the cent.

The conversion
Five steps. Nothing leaves your browser.
Drop the file
A background worker in your browser reads the 750-byte T, A, B, C, K and F records. Amounts are read as whole cents, never as floating point. Every return keeps its record number.
Read the summary
Tax year, payers, returns per form and control totals. Each problem points to its record number and says how to fix it.
Get Portal CSV
Taxpayer Portal CSV files, at most 250 returns each and one file per payer. Upload them in the IRIS Taxpayer Portal. Export opens November 1.
Run the checks
B record counts against your C records, box totals to the cent, and IRS rules for the tax year, including the $2,000 threshold for NEC and MISC in 2026.
Download the zip
Your IRIS files plus a conversion report in PDF and CSV: returns in and out, box totals in and out, and anything not carried over. Nothing is uploaded.

Files never leave your browser.
Reading, checking and building your IRIS files all run in a background worker on your computer. There is no upload. Our server keeps only what you type into a form: a waitlist or contact email, and a trial email with its export count.

Questions
What finance teams ask first.
Do I still need my own TCC?
Yes. A TCC (Transmitter Control Code) is the ID the IRS gives each filer. You file with your own IRIS account and TCC. We give you the finished files, and we never file for you.
Which forms are supported?
1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV and 1098-T, for tax years 2025 and 2026. We export original returns only. Returns marked as corrected are listed in the conversion report and not exported. Files for tax years before 2025 are not exported either.
My system makes tax year 2026 files. Is there a 2026 Pub 1220?
No. The IRS won't publish one, because FIRE closes first. We read 2026 files with the 2025 layout and check them with 2026 rules, including the new $2,000 threshold for NEC and MISC.
How do you handle the money?
Amounts are read as whole cents, never as floating point numbers. The conversion report compares box totals in and out, and the preview checks them against your C records, to the cent.
Will it handle a huge file?
Yes. It previews 500,000 returns in seconds. The work runs in a background worker, so the tab stays responsive.
What if a field has no IRIS match?
It is listed under "Not carried over" in the conversion report, so nothing is dropped silently.
What does it cost?
The preview is free. Export opens November 1, and your first 2 exports are free. Need more? Talk to us.
